2. Analyse both the generic and technology-based issues facing aviation organisations and the factors that influence leaders and managers when devising commercial planning and organisational strategies
3. Comprehensively examine how the aviation sector has incorporated new advances in technology into management, strategy and operations and evaluate the concept of a ‘first mover’ culture within this sector to ensure market leadership in product development and commercial strategy.
Task
The following airlines have advertised a new strategy management position for their carrier (British Airways, Virgin Atlantic or easyJet) at their head office and you have applied for the role etc.
PLEASE SELECT ONE OF THE AIRLINES ABOVE:
The airline wants you to make a 15-20 minute presentation on the challenges that the airline faces and what strategic issues you see as important over the next 5 years.
Task 1: Create a presentation to answer the above requirement based on 15 minutes that shows your understanding of the key issues for the carrier and describe how you created the scenario for the next 5 years etc.
Task 2: Ensure that you link your assessment to the theory of strategy and leadership so that the presentation ends with you outlining why studying strategy and leadership can help in the context of this role.
